INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup kefir

  • 1 small nashi pear

  • 1 Energy Blendie

EQUIPMENT:

  • Blender

METHOD:

  1. Combine ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth.

  2. Enjoy!

NOTES:

  • Vitamin C found in nashi pears and the Energy Blendie will help reduce severity and duration of a cold.

  • Probiotic kefir also will help reduce severity and duration as well as incidence of cold and flu by supporting immune health. Kefir can be found in the dairy section of mst supermarkets and health food stores. If you cannot find it you could swap for greek yoghurt

  • Add a little honey for extra sweetness

  • The riper your nashi pear, the sweeter it will be

  • Kefir is a fermented milk drink which tastes a lot like yoghurt - it can be quite tart. You can make kefir using any type of milk , including vegan varieties. However cows and goats milk are more readily available at the supermarket and health food stores. Kefir is high if protein and full of live microbacteria called probiotics which can be beneficial for gut health - may help with diarrhoea and IBS symptoms - supports a strong immune system to help fight infection
